I continue to strive for freedom. To allow pure creativity to flow. Yes, I know the rules of composition (thirds be damned!) and can talk about line, form and value. Having studied these words, I want to exclude them from my thoughts as I paint. These concepts form a frame work, a reference point. Now I mix paint on the fly and touch brush to canvas only as guided by emotion and the feeling of what should come next. The color knows where to go. The brush moves on its own. My hand provides only motive power.
