I love using oil sticks, they are messy as can be but there is something almost primal and certainly childlike in being able to apply oil paint in a stick directly to the canvas (or in this case, paper). I approached and executed this piece with glee. I swear, a great big smile was on my face from start to finish. I put down a coat of Liquin on glass, then painted with the sticks onto the coated glass. Then I mono printed the whole sloppy colorful mess onto canvas paper (i found using a canvas to be impractical). I was so pleased with the results that I did a whole series.
